Times of the School Day

At Turnham Academy, we believe we should always show urgency in our learning. Every minute of our day is clearly timetabled to ensure our pupils make the most out of their learning time.

Our Academy is organised into three Key stages:

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) – Children in our Nursery and Reception classes.

Key Stage 1 (KS1) – Children in our Year 1 and Year 2 classes

Key Stage 2 (KS2) – Children in our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 classes

Nursery morning registration is at 8:30am.

Reception and Years 1 to Year 6 have their morning registation at 8:50am.

End of the school day procedures -

As part of our ongoing safeguarding processes, we would like to remind you of our academies protocols when collecting your child/ren at the end of the school day.

If you are unable to collect your child in the usual way at the end of the day, then please telephone the academy office to advise us of your expected time of arrival or any alternative arrangements that you have made to ensure your child is collected safely.

Please also note that no person under the age of eighteen may collect a child from the school, unless this has been pre-arranged with the Head Teacher.

No child below Year 6 may make their own way home. If you have a child in Year 6, and you wish them to make their own way home, you must put this in writing. You can do so by requesting a form from the academy office. We will not permit any Year 6 child to go home unaccompanied, unless we have received the information and permission in writing.

If there are any exceptional circumstances around arrangements already in place or any requests for pupils collecting siblings, that do not fall in line with our policy, please put this in writing to the academy office and this will be passed to the Head Teacher.
